The Vologda enamel

This picturesque trade appeared in the northern Russian small town – Solvychegodsk in the middle of the 17th century.
The Vologda (Usolsky) enamel is a colorful flower and story painting on a white enamel background.

Product Description

Magnificent vegetative compositions (more often with a favorite flower of a tulip) put on a copper basis were initially the main motive: the masters depicted flower ornaments, birds, animals as well as mythological plots  on the white enamel.
The peculiarity of Vologda enamel is a variety of flowers: red, lilac, yellow, green, brown, pink and dark blue.
